About 5 years ago I compiled a bunch of computer music I had been working on periodically. I put the tracks together on a CafePress cd and called it Music for 18 Listeners (a nod to Steve Reich and a play on how few people would actually end up hearing it).
Most of the tracks started out as processed samples using Klaus Filip’s lloop which runs on MAX/MSP. Each idea was processed and remixed several times in different softwares over the course of 5 years.
The music was originally inspired by ‘glitch’ music of the early 2000’s such as Christian Fennesz and Bernhard Günter. I can’t say whether it’s aged terribly well, but I still enjoy listening to these tunes on occasion.
